Hypnotherapy for Relaxation

When was the last time you truly switched off?

Not scrolling through your phone or watching television while your mind is still thinking about tomorrow.

Instead, imagine actually stopping without mentally running through everything you should be doing.

But actually stopping.

Body relaxed. Mind quiet. Nothing to solve. Nowhere else you need to be.

For many people, that feeling has become surprisingly unfamiliar.

Life can become a constant stream of work, family, responsibilities, messages, appointments, decisions and things that need doing.

Even when you finally get some time to yourself, your mind doesn’t necessarily get the message.

Perhaps you’re physically sitting still, but mentally you’re still running.

Hypnotherapy for relaxation can give you an opportunity to slow everything down, switch off from the outside world and experience what deep relaxation can actually feel like again.

At Soul Solutions Hypnotherapy in Leicestershire, relaxation sessions are about giving your mind and body permission to stop doing for a while…

and simply be.

Have You Forgotten How to Relax?

In fact, sometimes people don’t realise how much tension they’re carrying until they finally let some of it go.

Perhaps you recognise some of these:

✓ Your mind rarely feels quiet
✓ You find it difficult to sit still without doing something
✓ You feel guilty when you’re not being productive
✓ You’re always thinking about the next job
✓ Your shoulders, jaw or body often feel tense
✓ You struggle to switch off after work
✓ You feel as though you’re constantly “on”
✓ You reach the end of the day exhausted but still can’t settle
✓ You automatically reach for your phone whenever there’s silence
✓ You find yourself doing several things at once
✓ Even holidays can take a few days before you begin relaxing
✓ You can’t remember the last time you did absolutely nothing without feeling guilty

And sometimes you might even say:

“I don’t know how to relax.”

The interesting thing is…

your body already knows.

Sometimes it simply needs an opportunity to remember.

Relaxation Isn’t Doing Nothing

We can become so accustomed to being busy that resting starts to feel almost uncomfortable.

There’s always another email.

There’s another job, another person who needs something or something else you could be doing.

As a result, relaxation can begin feeling like something that has to be earned.

But relaxation isn’t laziness.

It isn’t wasting time.

And it certainly isn’t something you should feel guilty about.

Therefore, taking time to slow down can give you space to reset, allowing you to return to everyday life feeling calmer and more refreshed.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is simply…

stop.

How Can Hypnotherapy Help with Relaxation?

Hypnosis naturally involves focused attention and relaxation, making it a lovely way to experience a period of genuine mental downtime.

During your session, you don’t need to achieve anything.

There’s nothing you need to perform.

Nothing you need to get right.

You can simply settle back, listen to my voice and allow yourself to become increasingly comfortable.

We might use:

✓ Progressive muscle relaxation
✓ Calming breathing
✓ Guided imagery
✓ Peaceful visualisation
✓ Mindfulness-style awareness
✓ Positive suggestions
✓ Deepening techniques
✓ Imagery involving nature, warmth, water or other calming environments

Every person experiences hypnosis differently.

For example, some people feel wonderfully heavy.

Others feel light or floaty.

You might notice warmth, tingling or simply a sense that your body has become very still.

And sometimes people are surprised by just how nice it feels to have absolutely nothing expected of them for a while.

Imagine Giving Yourself Permission to Stop

Imagine settling somewhere comfortable and knowing that, for the next little while, nothing needs you.

You don’t need to answer your phone or solve anybody’s problems.

For once, there’s nowhere you need to rush to and nothing you need to remember.

You simply breathe.

And gradually, perhaps your shoulders begin to soften.

Your jaw relaxes.

Your breathing slows.

The thoughts that were demanding your attention begin becoming less important.

You don’t have to force your mind to become quiet.

You simply stop following every thought that appears.

One comes…

and goes.

Another comes…

and goes.

Until somewhere between one thought and the next, you begin noticing something you may not have experienced for quite some time.

Space.

Mental breathing room.

A feeling that, just for now…

everything can wait.

Learning to Take That Feeling with You

Relaxation doesn’t have to exist only inside the therapy room.

Over time, part of our work can involve helping you recognise the early signs that you’re becoming tense or overloaded and developing ways to interrupt that pattern.

Perhaps you begin noticing your shoulders creeping upwards.

Your breathing becoming shallow.

Your thoughts speeding up.

Instead of waiting until you’re completely exhausted, you begin responding sooner.

A breath.

A pause.

A few moments outside.

Five minutes without your phone.

Simply allowing yourself to stop.

As a result, small changes can begin creating more breathing space in everyday life.

Ready to Give Yourself Some Time?

You spend so much of your life doing things.

Sometimes it’s okay to have an hour where you don’t have to achieve anything at all.

Your free initial consultation gives us an opportunity to talk about what you’d like from your relaxation sessions and whether hypnotherapy feels right for you.

Relaxation Through Sound

However, hypnotherapy isn’t the only way I work with deep relaxation.

I also offer Gong & Dragon Frequency Tubes Sound Healing, using gongs, Dragon Frequency Tubes and other therapeutic instruments to create an immersive sound experience.

Rather than listening to words and guided imagery, you can simply lie back comfortably and allow the sound and vibration to surround you.

For some people, sound provides another lovely way of stepping away from everyday thinking and experiencing a period of stillness and rest.

Hypnotherapy for Relaxation in Leicestershire & Online

I offer relaxation hypnotherapy from Soul Solutions Hypnotherapy in Leicestershire, as well as online sessions.

In addition, online relaxation sessions can be especially lovely because, once the session has finished, you’re already at home.

No traffic.

No rushing anywhere.

No immediately returning to another appointment.

You can simply allow that relaxed feeling to continue for a little longer.

Wherever you choose to have your session, the intention is the same:

to give you some space away from everything else.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnotherapy for Relaxation

Can I have hypnotherapy just for relaxation?

Absolutely.

You don’t need to have a particular problem or diagnosis to experience hypnotherapy.

Some people simply want an opportunity to deeply relax, switch off and spend some time focusing on themselves.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Of course, everyone experiences hypnosis slightly differently.

You may feel heavy, light, warm, floaty or simply very comfortable. You might notice that you’re less interested in the sounds around you or that your thoughts begin slowing down.

There’s no particular feeling you have to experience for hypnosis to be effective.

What if I find it really difficult to switch my mind off?

That’s okay — and it’s one of the reasons people may choose a relaxation session.

You don’t need to forcibly empty your mind.

For example, thoughts may still come and go during hypnosis. Instead of fighting them, you can learn to let them pass without needing to follow every one.

Will I fall asleep?

You might become very deeply relaxed, but hypnosis isn’t the same as sleep.

Most people remain aware of my voice throughout the session, although you may drift in and out of paying conscious attention.

And if you do briefly fall asleep during a purely relaxation-focused session, I’m certainly not going to tell you off. 😂

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No.

You remain in control throughout the session and can speak, move or open your eyes if you want to.

Hypnosis isn’t mind control. You’re simply allowing yourself to enter a comfortable, focused state.

Can hypnotherapy help me sleep better?

Relaxation hypnotherapy may help you develop calmer habits and become better at settling your mind and body.

However, if sleep itself is the main problem you’d like help with, we may decide to work more specifically on what’s contributing to your sleep difficulties rather than treating the session purely as relaxation.

How many relaxation sessions do I need?

There’s no set number.

For instance, some people may simply want an occasional relaxation session, while others may choose several sessions to help them develop better ways of switching off and managing everyday tension.

We can discuss what you’re looking for during your initial consultation.

Can I have relaxation hypnotherapy online?

Yes. Relaxation hypnotherapy is available both face-to-face in Leicestershire and online.

All you’ll need for an online session is somewhere comfortable and private where you won’t be disturbed.

Sometimes You Don’t Need to Do More

Sometimes you need to do less.

Maybe that means less thinking and less rushing.

Perhaps it means no longer trying to be everything to everybody or feeling guilty because you’re not being productive every second of the day.

And perhaps a little more…

quiet.

space.

rest.

you.
