Who am I – and why should you choose to work with me?
Hi, I’m Heidi,
I’m Heidi Walker (Dip Hyp GQHP GHReg), the face behind Soul Solutions Hypnotherapy & Empowerment, and if you’d told me years ago that one day I’d be a hypnotherapist, hypnotherapy trainer, breathwork practitioner and sound therapist, running empowerment experiences, working with gongs and Dragon Frequency Tubes, and becoming increasingly interested in the spiritual side of life… I probably wouldn’t have believed you!
My journey into this work certainly hasn’t been a straight line. In fact, I think that’s one of the reasons I’m able to connect with such a wide range of people.
I’m very down-to-earth. I like people to feel comfortable with me, and I don’t believe therapy needs to feel clinical, intimidating or overly serious. Yes, we may be working with something that has affected your life deeply, but that doesn’t mean the whole experience has to feel heavy.
There can be conversation, curiosity and even laughter along the way.
Most importantly, I want you to feel that you can simply be yourself when you walk through my door.
Because that’s exactly how I’ll be with you.

From Prison Officer to Hypnotherapist
Before Soul Solutions existed, I spent 18 years working as a Prison Officer.
As you can probably imagine, that taught me an enormous amount about people.
I met people from every walk of life, with completely different backgrounds, personalities and experiences. It taught me not to judge a book by its cover and, perhaps most importantly, it taught me that there is nearly always more going on beneath the surface than we initially see.
Towards the end of my career, however, I knew something needed to change.
I didn’t necessarily know what that change was going to look like. I just knew that I didn’t want to continue doing the same thing for the rest of my working life.
Then, rather unexpectedly, hypnotherapy found me.
I was driving to work one day when I heard something about hypnotherapy. Something about it caught my attention, and I found myself wanting to know more.
So, I did what most of us do when something sparks our curiosity…
I Googled it!
That one little search eventually changed the direction of my life.
The more I learned about hypnotherapy and the subconscious mind, the more fascinated I became. I loved the idea that we could work with the patterns, beliefs, fears and behaviours that sit beneath our conscious thinking – particularly those things we logically know we want to change, but somehow still struggle to change on our own.
Eventually, curiosity became training.
And that qualification became Soul Solutions Hypnotherapy.

Finding the Work I Was Meant to Do
When I first trained as a hypnotherapist, I don’t think I realised quite how much my life was going to change.
I began working with people experiencing anxiety, fears, phobias, trauma, confidence issues and many of the other things that can quietly restrict someone’s life.
And I loved it.
There is something incredibly rewarding about watching someone begin to see themselves differently.
Sometimes it’s a person doing something they previously believed they couldn’t do. Sometimes it’s watching their confidence return. Other times, it’s simply hearing someone say:
“I feel like me again.”
Over the years, I’ve continued learning because I’ve never believed that one technique is right for everybody.
Alongside hypnotherapy, I’ve trained in IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy) and incorporated other therapeutic approaches into my work. This gives me a much broader toolkit and allows me to adapt sessions to the individual sitting in front of me.
Because ultimately, you’re not a textbook.
You’re you.
Your experiences are yours, your mind is yours, and what works beautifully for one person may not be what another person needs.
That’s why my sessions have never been about simply following a script.
They’re about listening to you, understanding what’s happening for you and finding the approach that feels right.

From Hypnotherapist to Hypnotherapy Trainer
As my confidence and experience as a hypnotherapist grew, something else began to happen – I realised how much I enjoyed sharing what I’d learned with other people.
In 2021, I became a Hypnotherapy Trainer, which felt like a natural next step for me.
I wanted to teach hypnotherapy in the same way that I practise it – real, practical, down-to-earth and centred around the person sitting in front of you.
For me, becoming a good hypnotherapist isn’t about memorising scripts or learning the “perfect” words to say. It’s about understanding people. It’s about listening, being curious, building trust and having the confidence to adapt what you’re doing when something isn’t quite working.
After all, no two people are the same, so why would we expect every therapy session to be the same?
Passing My Experience On
Becoming a trainer has allowed me to take everything I’ve learned through years of working with real clients and pass that experience on to the next generation of hypnotherapists. I absolutely love watching students arrive at the beginning of their training, sometimes nervous and wondering whether they can really do this, and then seeing their confidence grow as everything starts to come together.
There’s something very special about watching someone qualify and begin helping people in their own way.
And, of course, I’m still learning too.
I don’t believe you ever reach a point where you know everything – especially when you’re working with something as fascinating and individual as the human mind. Therefore, I continue to learn, explore different approaches and develop my own skills, because every new piece of knowledge gives me something else that may help a client or student in the future.
Today, I run my own Hypnotherapy Training School, helping people learn the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to become professional hypnotherapists themselves.
And I still get a little buzz when one of my students tells me they’ve helped their first client.
It reminds me just how far that one curious Google search all those years ago has travelled.
One person learns how to help another… and then they go out and help someone else.
I think that’s pretty special.
Thinking about becoming a hypnotherapist yourself?
As well as working with clients, I run Heidi Walker Hypnotherapy Training, where I train and support people who want to become confident, professional hypnotherapists.

Then Things Got a Little More “Woo-Woo”…
I’ve actually always had a slightly spiritual side to me.
I’ve always been fascinated by the paranormal, mediumship and the things we can’t necessarily explain. I’ve enjoyed hearing people’s stories and experiences and have always been curious about whether there might be a little more to life than what we can physically see in front of us.
However, for many years, that was probably where my spirituality ended.
I didn’t really know much about energy, Reiki, the Universe, manifestation or many of the other things that I now find so interesting. If you’d started talking to me about some of those things years ago, there’s a good chance I’d have looked at you and wondered what on earth you were talking about!
Then, around 2022, something began to change.
I found myself becoming more curious and more open to exploring spirituality in a much broader way. Rather than simply being interested in the paranormal and mediumship, I started learning more about energy, intuition, the Universe and the connection between our mind, body and emotions.
Opening The Door A Little Wider
I trained in Reiki Levels 1 and 2, and that opened another door for me.
Although I don’t offer Reiki as a standalone treatment, learning about Reiki gave me a completely different perspective on energy and wellbeing. More importantly, it encouraged me to explore things that previously I simply hadn’t known very much about.
I joined a psychic development group, which allowed me to explore another side of something I’d actually been interested in for many years.
And I suppose that’s really how my spiritual journey has developed.
It hasn’t been a sudden transformation where I’ve thrown everything I previously believed out of the window. Instead, it’s been a gradual process of learning, experiencing, questioning and becoming more open-minded.
Today, I have a much stronger belief in the Universe, energy, intuition and trusting that sometimes things seem to come into our lives at exactly the right time.
At the same time, I’m still very much me.
I’m still practical. I’m still down-to-earth. I still ask questions, and I don’t expect anyone who works with me to believe the same things I do.
For me, spirituality isn’t about religion, and it certainly isn’t about telling other people what they should believe. It’s simply another part of who I’ve become and another layer of my own personal journey.
I think I’ve learned that you can have your feet firmly planted on the ground while still being curious about everything else that might be out there.
At the same time as I was exploring this side of myself, my work was also beginning to move beyond the traditional therapy room.
And that’s when things started getting a little more adventurous…

Taking Empowerment Beyond the Therapy Room
In 2022, my partner Daz and I trained as Firewalking and Glasswalking Instructors, and this opened up a completely different side to the work I was already doing.
Hypnotherapy had shown me just how powerful our beliefs can be. I’d seen people convince themselves that they couldn’t do something, weren’t good enough, weren’t confident enough or would always be held back by a particular fear.
Firewalking and Glasswalking gave me another way of helping people challenge those beliefs – but this time in a very physical and memorable way.
Because when you’re standing in front of a pathway of hot coals, or looking down at a bed of broken glass, your mind can give you a hundred reasons why you can’t do it!
And then you do.
For me, it’s not really about walking across fire or glass.
It’s about what they represent.
It’s that moment when somebody faces something they believed they couldn’t do, takes that step and discovers that they’re capable of far more than they realised.
That feeling can be incredibly empowering.
Seeing People Realise What They’re Capable Of
From there, I began creating and facilitating more empowerment experiences and events, bringing together different techniques designed to challenge limiting beliefs, build confidence and help people discover their own strength and resilience.
Over time, this has included Firewalking, Glasswalking, Arrow Breaking, Fire Bubbles and other transformational activities.
I love watching the change in somebody from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.
They might arrive nervous, unsure of themselves and thinking:
“There is absolutely NO WAY I’m doing that!”
And then later, they’re standing there with the biggest smile on their face because they’ve just done the very thing they were convinced they couldn’t do.
Those moments are priceless.
Because sometimes we need more than somebody telling us we’re capable.
Sometimes we need to prove it to ourselves.
This work also helped me realise that supporting people didn’t always have to happen one-to-one in my therapy room. There were so many different ways I could create experiences that allowed people to challenge themselves, reconnect with who they are and discover just how powerful they can be.
And, as my own journey continued, another piece was soon going to find its way into my work – breathwork.

Discovering the Power of Breath
One of the things I experienced during my Firewalking Instructor Training in 2022 was BreathPower – and I absolutely loved it.
It was one of those experiences where I immediately thought, “I need to know more about this!”
I’d obviously been breathing my entire life (which is always helpful! 😂), but I’d never really appreciated just how powerful our breath could be or how differently we can feel when we consciously change the way we breathe.
I loved the experience so much that, just a couple of months later, I went back and trained as a BreathPower Breathwork Practitioner myself.
For me, it fitted perfectly with everything else I was already doing.
Hypnotherapy works with the mind and subconscious. Firewalking and Glasswalking challenge our beliefs and show us what we’re capable of. Breathwork, however, gave me another way of helping people connect with themselves through something we all have access to every single day – our breath.
BreathPower can be an incredibly powerful experience. Through conscious, connected breathing, music and guided support, I create a space where people can step away from everyday thinking and simply focus on themselves and their breath.
Everyone experiences it differently. For some people, it’s deeply relaxing. For others, it can feel energising or emotional. Some people experience a sense of release, while others simply enjoy having the time and space to switch off from everything going on around them.
And that’s something I’ve come to appreciate throughout all of the work I do:
There isn’t one single way to help everybody.
Sometimes we need to talk. Sometimes we need to work with the subconscious mind. Sometimes we need to challenge ourselves and walk across hot coals.
And sometimes…
we just need to breathe.
BreathPower became another important part of my work and something I now incorporate into my empowerment experiences, retreats and standalone sessions.
And my journey still wasn’t finished.
A few years later, another experience came along that completely captured me – something that would bring together relaxation, vibration, meditation and my increasingly spiritual side.
Sound….

Discovering the Power of Sound
By 2025, my journey took me in yet another direction – and this time it was all about sound.
As with so many of the things I’ve discovered along the way, I experienced it for myself first.
And I loved it.
So, naturally, my curiosity kicked in again!
I wanted to understand more about what I was experiencing, how different instruments could be used and, most importantly, how I could bring this into the work I was already doing.
In 2025, I trained as a Sound Therapist, learning to work with Gongs, Dragon Frequency Tubes, drums and a variety of other beautiful instruments to create deeply immersive Sound Healing Journeys.
And I absolutely fell in love with it.
There’s something quite magical about watching a room full of people arrive after busy days – minds racing, shoulders tense, thinking about work, family, dinner, tomorrow and the hundred other things we all carry around with us – and then gradually watching the whole energy of the room change.
The talking stops.
The bodies become still.
The breathing slows.
And, for a while, nobody needs anything from them.
They can simply be.
For somebody like me, who has always had a busy mind, I think that’s one of the reasons sound connected with me so strongly. It creates an opportunity to experience meditation without feeling as though you have to be good at meditating. You don’t need to empty your mind or stop your thoughts. You simply allow yourself to listen.
My sound journey also led me to something particularly special – birthing my own drum.
Rather than simply buying a drum, I went through the process of creating my own. It became much more than making an instrument; it felt personal, meaningful and very much connected to the spiritual journey I’d been exploring over the previous few years.
Bringing Sound Healing Into Soul Solutions
Today, Sound Healing has become another important part of what I offer through Soul Solutions.
I hold regular Gong & Dragon Frequency Tube Sound Journeys, creating a warm and welcoming space where people can step away from everyday life, give themselves permission to pause and experience the beautiful sounds and vibrations for themselves.
And although Hypnotherapy, BreathPower, Firewalking, Glasswalking and Sound Healing may all look completely different on the surface, to me they’re actually connected by the same thing.
Helping people change how they feel.
Sometimes that means helping somebody overcome something that’s been holding them back.
Sometimes it means helping them realise they’re capable of far more than they thought.
And sometimes it simply means giving somebody the space to stop, breathe and reconnect with themselves.
That’s what Soul Solutions has gradually become for me.
Not just one therapy or one technique, but a collection of different experiences and approaches that allow me to meet people where they are and help them move towards where they’d like to be.
What Am I Actually Like to Work With?
After reading all of that, you might be wondering what I’m actually like when you come and see me.
The simple answer is…
I’m just me.
I’m warm, friendly, down-to-earth and very easy to talk to. I don’t believe therapy should feel clinical or intimidating, and you certainly won’t find me sitting there with a clipboard analysing everything you say!
My therapy room is a relaxed and welcoming space where you can simply be yourself.
There is no judgement.
You don’t have to find the perfect words to explain how you’re feeling. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come. And you definitely don’t have to worry about saying the “wrong” thing.
We’ll work it out together.
I also like to have a laugh.
Of course, some of the things people come to see me about can be incredibly difficult, and I’ll always treat those experiences with the care and respect they deserve. However, therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy every minute you’re here.
Sometimes laughter is exactly what we need.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned over the years is that everybody is different.
That’s why I don’t believe in simply putting somebody into a box and following exactly the same process with everyone who walks through my door.
I’ll listen to you.
I’ll get to know you.
I’ll understand what you’d like to change and, together, we’ll find the approach that feels right for you.
Sometimes that might be Hypnotherapy. At other times, I may incorporate techniques from IEMT or other approaches I’ve trained in.
Outside the traditional therapy room, you might find me helping somebody walk across hot coals, guiding a room through BreathPower, playing the Gongs and Dragon Frequency Tubes, or creating an empowerment experience designed to help people discover just how capable they really are.
It might sound like quite an unusual combination!
But underneath all of it is the same intention I’ve had from the beginning:
To help people.
To help people feel calmer.
To help them become more confident.
To help them let go of things that have been holding them back.
To help them reconnect with themselves.
And sometimes, simply to remind them that they’re capable of far more than they realise.
So, whether you’ve arrived here because you’re struggling with something, you’re ready to make a change, or you’re simply curious about one of the experiences I offer…
You’re very welcome.
You don’t need to know exactly what you need before you contact me.
That’s something we can work out together.
